The Play
2021
The Play is
a circular sail fifteen metres in diameter, supported by a sturdy grid of
fibreglass poles.
During the fleeting moments between sunset and civil twilight, a slow metamorphosis of this object is created, transitioning it from one form and position to another. By letting an artificial form guide a natural process, the Play gives direction and meaning to the ordinary cycle of daylight and darkness, weaving together local communities, things and natural processes.
