A one-person machine that generates a visual fade-in and fade-out of the surrounding environment. Straps positioned around the spectator’s head slowly open and close as the speed of the cylinder changes, continuously modulating perception as the surrounding space fades in and out, shifting between full visibility and darkness.

An instrument with remotely controllable rotating shutters. The shutters alternate between two ways of seeing: when open, a view of the surrounding space; when closed, the inside of the shutter becomes a mirror. The viewer sees a reflection of their own eyes, enclosed within a closed space.

Forty tons of undisturbed earth were excavated at the historical center of the city of Leuven (Belgium). With this earth and the assistance of 120 volunteers, a tower was constructed, serving as an observatium to look at the sky.
